Pillars of Academic Success

We all learn different habits from early childhood to live a better life. Parents try to develop eating habits, sleeping habits, habits of meeting others, and good socialization but unfortunately, nearly all of us remain unaware of study habits. It is the responsibility of early school teachers and parents that they should try to guide children about study habits. Several types of research have indicated very clearly that good study habits are pillars of academic achievement and good learning. These can be developed at any age, although childhood and primary level of education is the best time to develop good study habits. Following are some good study habits which every student should try to develop.

Learn to read

Reading a book is different from reading a magazine or story. You have to read the book attentively and only read once to clear nothing. It is important to read it more than three times and then write your notes about what you have learned. Keeping the notes organized will help in preparation for the examination.

Manage your time

Learn to organize and utilize your time to complete your tasks and responsibilities. After coming back home, plan what you have to do today. Start studying or doing assignments on time. Creating a short and long timetable of your goals and tasks to do Timetable or schedule is very necessary. You make your weekly and monthly timetable. Then follow it strictly to achieve your goals. Start with assignments and end on reading notes.

Avoid distractions

It is better to set your study time at home. Keep all the distractions like music, mobiles, internet surfing, chatting with friends, magazines, and T.V out of your study table or place. Do not study in bed, it is associated with sleep and also causes distraction, it is better to have a table and chair of your own where the least distraction is possible.

Get organized

The organization will help you stay away from being panicked and stressed. When one is stressed out, feels overburdened because of incomplete tasks or at least preparation for exams or any class test, he or she cannot concentrate.

Having limited socialization with friends No doubt friends are an important part of life but to spend the majority of daily time with friends whether in chatting through phones or through going to their homes or any outside place to have a fun time is not good. It would be better to follow your own timetable of study and also help and motivate your friend to follow a schedule of study. On weekends is a better choice for having fun with friends.
